At midday of 6th July, Anqing Foreign Language School’s Senior High Deparment held the summary working conference of the second semester in the 2017-2018 academic year at the School Lecture Hall, which was chaired by Principal Assistant Qian Zhihong who also delivered a keynote speech. All the faculty members from the Senior High Section attended the conference.
In the first place, Principal Assistant Qian Zhihong shared the brilliant achievements of this year’s College Entrance Examination with great joy. Anqing Foreign Language School’s performances in the 2018 College Entrance Exam created a new record high! There were 431 students from Anqing Foreign Language School participating in the exam, among whom only 160 scored above 600 points in the Senior High School Entrance Examination. 238 students reached the undergraduate course line, the rate being 55.2%. 89 examinees qualified for key universities, the rate being 20.6%. Both rates promised an absolute predominance over any mon-state-run school in Anqing City. Meanwhile, 101 of 156 students from key classes reached the undergraduate cultural course line(The highest mark was 624.), the rate being 64.7%. 27 students qualified for key universities, the rate being 17.3%. More remarkably, student Wang Sihao was admitted to Naval Aviation University who was the only student enrolled in the flight command major in Anqing City through a great many rounds of selection. Moreover, student He Yinfeng from the study-abroad class was admitted to world-renowned UCLA, which ranked 14th globally and the first among American public universities. Student He Yong was enrolled in University of California, Santa Barbara, which ranked 38th globally and was among the top 10 Amercian public universities. Principal Assistant Qian Zhihong mentioned that the marvelous performances were owing to the industriousness and efforts of all the teachers from Grade 12.
In the second place, Principal Assistant Qian Zhihong checked the work in several aspects such as moral education work, daily work, safety work as well as prize winning conditions of teachers and students. The Senior High Department adhered to ‘Four Cultures’ in moral education, namely, classroom culture, office culture, desk culture and corridor culture. Other than that, the Senior High Division adopted the ‘Four Habits’: reading, writing, self-study at night and queuing up. Furthermore, the extracurricular activities in the Senior High Section were colorful. For example, this semester we organized a series of activities as follows: the study tour in spring, the red song chorus competition, football match, patriotic reading essay and speech contest in addition to the graduation ceremony in Grade 12. Evidently, we have made steady progress in our daily work, strictly followed up the implementation and safety work in an orderly and strict manner. The incredible achievements of teachers and students fully reflected the lofty realm and spiritual outlook of the Senior High Division, which was forging ahead and striving unremittingly.
To sum up, we devote ourselves to education and concentrate our attention on professional skills! As the saying goes, difficulty is the nurse of greatness.
